Seed Search
Starting a new world? Describe the world you want and let your browser test random seeds for you. Seeds that meet every criterion are listed below, best rated first.

How the Seed Search works
The Seed Search helps you choose a seed before you create a new Valheim world, and it runs entirely in your browser. It generates random worlds with the same world generator as the map, a port of Valheim's own generation code, and checks each world against your rules. Nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.
- Choose a preset such as early bosses or traders nearby, or start from an empty search.
- Add Seed Criteria. These are must-haves: a seed that fails any criterion is skipped.
- Add Seed Ratings. These are nice-to-haves, each with an importance from Minor to Critical. Every matching seed gets a score, and the best seeds are listed first.
- Press Start. The search keeps testing random seeds until it finds as many matches as you asked for, or until you stop it. Each match shows a small biome preview and a link that opens the seed in the full map.
What you can search for
- Biomes you can reach from spawn over land without sailing, biomes within a distance of spawn, large continuous biome regions, alternate biome variants and tall mountains.
- Bosses, traders and other locations: how many are within a distance of spawn, whether they are on the same land mass as spawn, how close they are to other locations, and combinations such as a location near a particular biome.
- A pinned world center, if you want the map centered on a particular point.
- "Connected" means on the same land mass: reachable on foot without sailing, where water shallow enough to wade (under 2 m deep) and rivers do not count as gaps. It does not check walking distance, cliffs or mountains in the way.
- The style of the random seeds: normal 10-character seeds, seeds made of English words such as IronWolf42, or cursed seeds made only of symbols and emoji.
Good to know
- Strict rules can take a long time, because rare combinations may need many thousands of seeds. The search bar shows how many seeds have been tested, the current rate and an estimated time left. Each criterion shows how many seeds it excluded, so you can see which rule is holding the search back.
- A higher parallelism setting uses more of your CPU and finds seeds faster.
- Results are for the latest Valheim version supported by the map.
- Dungeon contents and randomly spawned objects cannot be searched yet. Heights are sampled on a coarse grid, so very narrow peaks can be missed.
- Pin any seed, including one you already play, to see how it scores against your rules.
- Presets and pinned seeds are saved in your browser. Export a preset to share it with friends.
